Sunday Longplay - Zelda 2: Agahnim's Curse (NES ROM Hack)

This week on Sunday Longplay, it's another ROM hack for one of my favorite NES games of all time. Welcome to Zelda 2: Agahnim's Curse!

This hack completely overhauls all four areas of the overworld as well as creating new layouts for the 6 palaces that still vaguely resemble the layout of the palaces from the base game. Some of the changes from Zelda 2 Redux are also applied here, including the new HUD, the new Link sprites, the changes to Shield spell color based on defense level, retaining 1-Ups, restarting from the palace entrance if you Game Over in there, etc. There is also a mechanic from Amida's Curse that makes a return in this hack, which is the ability to cancel out of the Fairy spell by hitting the Jump button. Naturally, some of the areas of the palaces are designed with this in mind, particularly in palaces 3 and 6.
