Japan’s ex-PM Shinzo Abe shot dead at Nara campaign event

Japan's former prime minister, Shinzo Abe, has died in a hospital after being shot at an election campaign event in the city of Nara. The alleged attacker, identified as 41-year-old former Japanese navy serviceman, was detained on the spot.
