Nigerian pastors accused of kidnapping 77 people and waiting for the Second Coming

Pastors of the Whole Bible Believe Church in Ondo, Nigeria, have been accused of kidnapping after 77 people were found in the Church basement. The people had been told that they should remain in the basement, which has been described as a ‘dungeon’, as the Second Coming of Christ was imminent.

Of the 77 people rescued, 26 were children, with some as young as 8 years old; many had been there for over a year, waiting for the Rapture to happen. The worshippers had been told that the Second Coming would occur in April, however this was later postponed to September when it emerged that the world had not actually ended.
