Vitamin D: Vitamin D: It's Not Really a Vitamin!
In all my years of practice, I’ve never seen someone who is unwell with healthy levels of vitamin D. Never!
Vitamin D deficiency has reached epidemic levels in our society - nearly 50% of the population is deficient. That needs to change if we want to reclaim our health, because Vitamin D is a vitally important hormone (not nutrient!) needed for proper immune system function ⚔️, heart ❤️ and bone 🦴 health, and lots of other important jobs throughout the body.
I like to see people with blood levels of at least 60 ng/mL, well above what traditional medicine recommends.
To get there you need to focus on whole body health to ensure your cells are functioning properly - eat a nutrient-dense, whole food diet, exercise, relax, sleep, avoid toxins…you know the drill! 👍
☀️ And, most importantly, expose your skin to direct sunlight (without sunscreen) for at least 15-20 minutes a day - that’s the best way to get your body producing Vitamin D naturally. ☀️
When you find yourself needing to supplement, find one that also has magnesium, Vitamin A, and Vitamin K2 to maximize absorption.
