Sunday Longplay - Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 - Episode 2: Unbreakable Bonds (Both Endings)

This week on Sunday Longplay, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 continues with the second episode! At the end of last week's episode, the group had killed the swarm master Abaddon, but he got impaled by his master who then went to finish off the group, but Dominique stepped in and took the bullet. Now it's up to the three remaining characters to go back into the castle and save her.

Episode 2 basically plays like Nightmare Mode from the first Curse of the Moon. You start with every character except one, and because of that new paths open up. The bosses are also much harder as well. A harder version of the stage 6 boss without Dominique did not make for a good time!

This episode also has two different endings. In addition to power-ups on the new accessible paths in the first three stages, there are also pieces of a new sword called the Zanmatou. Collect all three and forge them in the shrine at the beginning of stage 4, and you'll get the key to finishing off the new final boss of this episode. Gameplay-wise it's a downgrade from the Soul Eraser, but its description points out its importance for the plot. It's basically a sword that discriminates between good and evil, slaying demons while leaving good guys untouched. Getting the sword will give you the good ending, while failing to get all three parts will put you on the path to the bad ending. Each ending also unlocks a new episode. The good ending will unlock the Final Episode, while the bad ending will unlock Episode EX (which will be covered next week).
