It's been a long time since the Owlet has seen Mom or Dad back at the nest. The Owlet, observed by its actions, has seen them flying around, or on an upper branch through the night and into the morning. So the Owlet takes a leap up to the fork of the tree to gain higher ground. Within minutes, Mom returns to an Owlet that learned the first lesson toward branching.
