Do you get hip pain when you squat? Has a doctor said your hip pain is from FAI (femoroacetabular impingement)? In this video, learn how to relieve squat hip pain and we answer questions from a viewer who gets hip pain when squatting - but only when he squats with extra weight.

The conventional medical perspective on hip impingement symptoms blames hip pain on FAI bone shapes (cam, pincer, and mixed impingement). This FAI bone theory does not adequately explain why people get hip pain when squatting, and it doesn't explain why some people can lift weights without hip pain despite having hip impingement bone shapes.

Being able to squat deeply and lift weights without hip pain is a result of having good hip muscle function. As you restore strength and extensibility to your hip muscles, you reduce feelings of discomfort, relieve hip pain, and improve your weightlifting.
