Setting Up the Blind – Preparing for Deer Season 2020

Deer season in Kentucky is fast approaching and today we took some time to set up a blind. This is the first year we’ll get to hunt here at the farm and we are excited for an opportunity to put some venison in the freezer!

Since we’ve been living here I’ve been putting a lot of thought into where the best spot to hunt would be, giving careful consideration to how we approach and exit our setup, likely travel corridors, safe shooting directions, and prevailing wind directions. I think I’ve got a good location picked out – time will tell how I did!

Keeton, Riley, and Boss join me as we drive to our spot, set up the blind, and clear a path in and out of trees. A buck even crosses through the field very close to where we’re at! He knew we were there but it’s the first weekend of November and he’s only thinking about the ladies at this time of year; he made his way across the field pretty quickly.

I hope to come back in the coming weeks with tales from a successful hunt and with any luck I’ll be able to share some footage we captured along the way. Subscribe to our channel if you want to follow along. Thanks for watching, everyone!
