Final Fantasy 6 (Pixel Remaster) - Part 1: The Frozen Esper

With Final Fantasy 1 & 4 completed, let's continue our coverage of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series with a game that many consider to be the greatest in the series, Final Fantasy 6!

Originally released in the US on the SNES as Final Fantasy 3 (since 4 became 2 and the others in between were initially Japan-exclusive), Final Fantasy 6 follows a cast of 14 playable characters in a quest of rebellion against an immoral military dictatorship, pursuit of a magical arms race, use of chemical weapons in warfare, depictions of violent and apocalyptic confrontations, several personal redemption arcs, and the renewal of hope and life itself. The end result is one of the single greatest video games of all time!

At the beginning of our story, our first main character Terra leads a mission by the Empire to seize control of a frozen Esper. When she finds it, a reaction between the two knocks her unconscious and kills her crewmates. When Terra wakes up, the slave crown controlling her actions is destroyed and her memories have been wiped.
