Happy New year! Today I make "Pretzel Salad" a wonderful dish for any occasion. Many of us make New Year resolutions and today's devotion helps us to start off the year right!

Strawberry Pretzel Salad
For the Crust:
2 cups crushed pretzels (I always add a little more)
3 tablespoons sugar (regular or brown sugar) Add the sugar to the crushed pretzels
3/4 cup butter, melted
Mix together and press firmly into 9x13 pan

Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes

For the Filling:
12 ounces cream cheese, softened (1large 8oz & 1 small 3 oz)

1 and 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream and 1 cup sugar, adding the sugar and beat to stiff peaks
Or use 12 ounces whipped topping and 1 cup sugar
Gently mix the cream cheese and whipped topping together. and spread over the cooled pretzel crust.

For the Topping:
2 6-ounce packages of strawberry gelatin dessert (or 4-3oz.packages)
2 cups water, boiling (do not add any additional water)
Add the boiling water to the jello and stir until dissolved, add 1-pound (16 ounces) strawberries, fresh or frozen that has been thawed. Once the jello with fruit is lukewarm pour on top of the crust and filling mixture, and refrigerate until set.
