Historically, failed states give rise to fascist power grabs and influence a society that’s been rendered impotent and helpless as individual rights are stripped away. In the Age of Covid, social media has become fertile soil for influencers to rise to new heights and strengthen their influence on a vulnerable and needy population.

In this new series, “Before and After Covid” book of ours spotlight these historic shifts and indoctrinations through vignettes that focus on a specific persona.

The first persona, “Shelly”, is an example of how a person’s career path is thrown off course in the Age of Covid. Shelly is a tattoo artist who lives in Chicago, IL. Prior to Covid, her work and her vision was her priority. But after Covid, she has transitioned into something altogether unrecognizable to herself and the world around her.
