This project is a bit of a detour from my K5 work. Step one of my next big project, ( rebuilding the motor in the family vehicle) is breaking down the motor and cleaning everything. This is a 2000 Chevy suburban with 290k miles on the motor and lots of grime and sludge in the engine block. It has a loud lifter ticking when it’s cold and has been burning (and leaking) oil, and losing coolant pretty quickly as well.

In this video I've finished removing all the internal parts and spent all my time cleaning the engine block and all the parts I'll be reusing. Take a look at how clean it is at the end of this video compared to how it started.
