"Hot Love," written by Marc Bolan, was T-Rex's first entry onto the Billboard Hot 100 chart as "T-Rex" but failed to move past the no. 72 position on the chart in 1971 (the original band Tyrannosaurus Rex's single "Ride A White Swan" was Bolan's first entry onto the chart) (Whitburn, 2013); however, the song did reach the no. 1 position on the UK Singles Chart (Larkin, 1997). The song was released as a standalone single and not included on an album until the following year when the record label released the compilation LP "Bolan Boogie" with "Hot Love" included on it (rateyourmusic, 2022).
