In this episode of the VMblog Expert Video Interview Series, we spoke with Barak Schoster, Chief Architect at Palo Alto Networks, where we talk about the Bridgecrew team that built and launched Yor (the same team behind the popular open source project, Checkov).

Quick background. Bridgecrew, a company that bridged the gap between cloud security and developers, was acquired by Palo Alto Networks. Prior to the acquisition, Barak Schoster was the CTO and Co-Founder of the company. Bridgecrew was started because they saw there was a huge bottleneck in security engineering, in DevSecOps, and how engineers were running cloud infrastructure security.

Watch this video interview to learn more as Schoster dives in and talks about the creation of a new open source project called Yor. Yor is an open-source tool that helps add informative and consistent tags across infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Serverless. Learn more about the different use cases of Yor and how it operates with Checkov. And find out what the team is up to next.
