How to install a new work 3 gang electrical switch box and the correct way to run a new wire to the box. Code References in order as they appear: NEC 300.4 Protection Against Physical Damage, 334.15(C) 1/4" outer jacket inside the box.

45" to the bottom of the box is standard switch box install height - refer to architectural notes which are generally center of the box measurement or match existing site install height for consistency.
Install gang box level and in the wall plane for a clean and easy finish-out.
Leave a 7 inch service loop.
If the box has a clamp the wire should be supported within 12 inches (of wire) from the box exit. Install the wire staple closer than 12" to account for the service loop length.
