2024 @Chevrolet Silverado RST 664HP EV 400-Mile Range

The Silverado EV is about the same length and height as a regular crew-cab, short-bed Silverado, but the only thing the two trucks share is part of their names. The Silverado EV isn't even assembled in the same factory. Instead, it's built on a narrower version of the GMC Hummer EV's underpinnings. That means independent front and rear suspension, front and rear electric motors (although two of them, rather than the Hummer's three), and an available 200.0-kWh battery pack with 400 miles of estimated range.

Where the WT offers 510 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque, the RST features a drive mode called “Wide Open Watts” (WOW, get it?) that enables 664 horsepower and 780 pound-feet of torque. In this mode, Chevy says zero-to-60-mph acceleration will be better than 4.5 seconds.

GM's Super Cruise driver-assist technology comes with the RST. It allows for hands-free driving on premapped freeways and uses cameras to monitor driver attention.

The massive 17.0-inch center screen and 11.0-inch digital gauge cluster boasted flashy graphics, while the surrounding controls are a mixture of physical and capacitive. The WT comes with an 11.0-inch center display and an eight-inch screen in the gauge cluster.

Tow ratings are 10,000 pounds for the RST and 8000 pounds for the WT. These figures are similar to the F-150 Lightning's claims, but Chevy says a future Silverado EV variant will offer 20,000 pounds of towing capability. Conversely. the Silverado EV's payload ratings, at 1200 pounds for the WT and 1300 pounds for the RST, are lower than the Lightning's ratings.
