Harvard University is setting aside $100 million for an endowment fund and other measures to close the educational, social, and economic gaps that are legacies of slavery and racism. The funding will also support confronting tangible legacies of slavery affecting communities in the United States and in the Caribbean, to which New England’s slavery economies were closely tied.
