Lifestyle and dietary changes to relieve the symptoms of acid reflux are reviewed, and the mechanisms involved in the function of the various medical and surgical treatments of GERD and acid reflux are discussed. The video gives insight into the role of weight loss in the management of GERD and provides general information on the dietary choices recommended for sufferers of heartburn and acid reflux. Mention is made of Nissen Fundoplication and the TIF (transoral incisionless fundoplication) procedure, as well as the Linx reflux management system and the Stretta device.
