This entire series was filmed during late summer of 2010.Many of the personalities still can be found but many others have moved on. This series will tell you of history, it will show attractions, and it will make you laugh and cry. This is the Mother Road. Follow us as we reveal American's main street. In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure we explore the Painted Desert, where you can find the remnant of an older alignment of Route 66, and the Petrified Forest. It is unlawful to take anything out of these parks, but no matter. Petrified wood is everywhere, I found some on the roadside, but you can buy this for little money in any trading post around here. Stewart's Petrified Wood Trading post and the Rock Factory sell all the petrified wood you need. We filmed Ryan's old 66 Trading Post (closed), the Sahara Inn (open) and the Mesa Restaurant (open) just before we entered Holbrook where we stayed two nights. In Holbrook we filmed the Butterfield Stage Co. Steakhouse and the iconic Wigwam Motel.
