Before Lindbergh: The Kidnapping and Murder of Baby Lloyd Keet (1917)

Baby Lloyd Keet was kidnapped in the exact same way as the Lindbergh baby, 15 years before that tragedy. He was kidnapped by a group of bumbling idiots, who openly discussed their plans to kidnap people, even hiring a taxi to use DURING a kidnapping. Sadly, their ineptitude destroyed a family, and cost the life of a precious child. But it did lead to a kidnapping law still on the books today, written by the prosecutor of the case Roscoe Patterson who later became a United States Senator although the legislation failed to pass until the Lindbergh baby. Though called the Lindbergh law it was actually written because of the Keet case.
