Waiting for Summer movie Autumn Sneak Preview #S5IIX #A7IV #GH6
This is the Autumn Sneak Peak of our big Summer movie WAITING FOR SUMMER (Working title only) directed by Suchet Budon.
Set in a dystopian Neo Frankfurt, this action drama is inspired from the love of suspense movies like Frantic and Die Hard, this also takes elements from fairy tales such as Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, and Snow White.
I wanted to team up an American cowboy and an English knight, who go out to save Little Red Riding Hood from the big bad wolf, set in a magical ancient forest. That's the allegory.
The movie is being filmed with the following cameras: LUMIX GH6, LUMIX S5IIX, SONY A7IV, and SIGMA fp.
We are also using various lenses both vintage and modern electronic ones.

Laowa Nanomorph Anamorphic 50mm lens test with GH6 Camera | Filmed by Suchet Budon #Anamorphic #Cinematic
This was a quick lens test with my new T2.8 LAOWA 50mm 1.5x Nanomorph lens - This awesome cine lens has some quirks but the images are very pretty and cinematic in some cases.
I am a big fan of movies like THE TERMINATOR, that style of dark cinematography with hints of blue-ish lights and lens flares are very atmospheric, I admire the cinematography in that movie. I tried to replicate that movie style with this awesome LAOWA 50mm 1.5x lens Nanomorph lens which I purchased from LAOWA and received in the post quite fast actually. I also worked on the soundtrack to give it some atmosphere.
The camera which was paired with this awesome LAOWA nanomorph anamorphic lens here is the LUMIX GH6 which allowed me to use the open gate in awesome 5k and then de-squeeze in post on my M1 MAX with Davinci Resolve Studio 18.
The GH6 captures beautiful images especially when paired with epic lenses of this style.

Project A7IV Train Test | Rahana Carriage directed by Suchet Budon SONY A74 test with kit lens
A test of the SONY A7IV and the 28mm-70mm f3.5-f5.6 kit lens. in a dramatic and beautiful way - So I jumped on a train and made this science fiction styled short.
Filmed in SLOG3, graded in Davinci Resolve 18 and visual effects also done in Davinci Resolve 18, on a Windows laptop, the final edit was done on a 2020 iPad Pro using LumaFusion.
I wanted the direction style and sound to be reminiscent of David Fincher from his movies THE GAME and ALIEN3, so I created stretched-out text and graded in a big-bright way along with using computerised digital text for one of the scenes in the train ala ALIEN3.
Ill be using this SONY camera and various FE lenses for 2 sequences one is a coming of age scene in RAHANA where two friends see each other after many years and go on a city adventure. And then in another fight scene.
Ill also be using the SONY camera for scenes along with the GH6, S1 and fp along with a 1.5 squeeze anamorphic 50mm lens for a remake of DELIVERENCE that I will be making after RAHANA.
The reason I am using the non-cine-styled SONY A7IV camera is because it has such great auto-focus and the conversation and particular fight scene has two characters which the viewpoint will be switching from intermittently from character to character, very fast - to do that successfully without creating a nightmare, is to have a camera with faultless autofocus features like the SONY A7IV.
SIGMA fp cinema camera in Lichfield City | Cinematography by Suchet Budon
In this video Im taking a trip to Lichfield with Hansika and my Sigma fp camera. We look at three amazing vintage lenses being tested in this video, these cinematic lenses will also be used in my feature length movie RAHANA:
The vintage lenses are:
Olympus Zuiko 50mm f1.8,
Minolta MC Rokkor 135mm f2.8
Chinon 28mm f2.8.
These lenses are very cinematic and so is the beautiful scenery of Lichfield, including the amazing cathedral, churches, great statue of Saint Chad, lakes and town centre.
If you are interested in vintage lenses and camera technology, then this video is for you - With so many camera choices available, the Sigma fp comes top for many cinema features. In this video we use the amazing Sigma fp cinema camera which has great dynamic range and the ability to record in 12bit Cinema DNG RAW.
The lenses we test can be adapted to many cameras with the right adapters - Here we have adapted them to L mount.
SIGMA fp is one of the best cinema cameras available on a low budget, it offers high dynamic range and CDNG Raw video, and it is one of my favourite cameras, it has a full-frame sensor and excellent pro cinema features!

Olympus Zuiko 28mm f2.8 vintage lens video test | Sigma fp
A lens test with a vintage adapted lens Olympus Zuiko 28mm F2.8 lens, an amazing cinematic lens used on my SIGMA fp, an brilliant cinema camera . Video has been captured in 12bit CDNG RAW (capturing an amazing dynamic range of light and colour) and then converted to a lower filesize using the lossless format in SLIMRAW. I then edited the footage in Davinci Resolve Studio 18.
The Olympus Zuiko Auto W 28mm F2.8 lens is wide and captures beautiful colourful images - It is one of the main lenses I will be using to capture the Sanju and Mannu meeting scene in the streets of London for my feature length movie RAHANA which is currently in production.
I also decided to test the lens in the lovely city of Birmingham, the architecture and people are beautiful.
