Repair and Restoration of a Vintage 1939 Philco console radio Electrical components replacement.

First in a Series of videos of repair of a 1939 Philco console radio. This video starts with an overall look at the beginning of the project to restoring the performance of the radio through to restoration of the cabinet and finally installing Bluetooth so the owner can stream audio and start enjoying the radio for what it was intended, entertainment!

An ongoing restoration of the Philco 46-1201 Bing Crosby. Part 2 is the process I went through to refurbish the turntable of the set, from repairing the arm, disassembly of the motor, cleaning, lubing and prepping the plater for new flocking.

This is a Philco 46-1201. This unit is an AM radio/phonograph. It was made in 1946 and was commonly referred to as the Bing Crosby due to advertising of the set by Bing Crosby. This was an eBay find and is in rough shape. I will be doing a complete restoration of the unit from radio, phonograph, to the cabinet. This will be a series of videos. Enjoy!
