BIG SAVINGS on 2016 Kia Soul Front Strut
This maintenance task is surprisingly easy.
The common usage range you'll see quoted is 50k to 100k miles. I did this job on this car at 80k and can tell you I absolutely should have done it sooner. We don't drive in extreme conditions or on particularly rough roads, but it was still at least 20k overdue.
Shocks / struts are often ignored, but make a major difference when updated. They got worn out so gradually over 80k miles I didn't realize how bad they were. Any roughness I did notice I just blamed on the wheels needing rotating / balancing or tires nearing time for replacement. New tires do make a slight improvement, but I was amazed what new shocks can do to smooth out the ride and reduce road noise. And that's only the rear shocks.
I can't wait to do the front struts. I'll be posting that video soon.

If you have a bumpy ride in your car you might need new struts / shock absorbers. This shows how to replace your shocks for any kia rio, kia soul, or hyundai accent. Struts need to be replaces every 50 - 100 thousand miles or every 5 - 10 years. Shock absorbers slowly degrade over time and can begin to fail. So, if your car doesn't ride smooth, this could be the reason.
