METT-TC has become the buzz word a lot of “influencers” like to use and talk about for views. It’s nothing more than a guideline of variables to think about and consider for your mission. There is no such thing as “Civilian METT-TC” or even “Military METT-TC”. The variables can be applied to any situation and as in depth as you feel is necessary. Here I am using rain and Night Vision as factors and how they apply to the variables. Stop saying “METT-TC” to sound smart, cause really you sound like an idiot to those who actually know how to use the variables.

So you’ve bought some expensive Night Vision but you didn’t invest in storage and protection for them. It’s alright, This simple setup will keep your NODs safe until you get yourself a more dedicated pouch and insert or just keep using this setup if you want. Protect your NODs…. Please.

If you’re new or thinking about getting into night vision, you might have heard that looking into a light makes the night vision shut off. The short answer is no. The night vision you see in the video is an issued pair of PVS-14s and have seen a lot in its life. All that happens is the area where the light is coming from gets very intense and areas that have less light get drowned out. When this happens, it can make walking difficult because now you can’t see what’s in front of you at your feet.

Water sustainment is more than a life straw. You're going to have to find a way to collect lots of water for your family, community, or team. And after you have collected that water, you also need a way to purify it. This is also assuming you make it back.

Caches and Speedballs are simple. The cache will be located where the unit in need of resupply can access it without being compromised. The Speedball is a technique of delivering supplies rapidly to the unit. Typically the Speedballs are made before the mission begins and are already allocated to that unit they are for. So when the unit calls for a resupply, there is no need to go through the process of requesting and gathering the items because they are already packed and ready to go. The resupply team just grabs the Speedball and takes it to the cache. Depending where the unit in need of resupply is and the enemy situation, the cache site will be determined as resupply requests are made. Once the resupply unit reaches the cache and retrieves the Speedball, they move away from the cache site and to a location that conceals them while they distribute the items to each member of the team. Depending on what is used for the Speedball, the Speedball may be stowed away in members ruck or dropped off at a new cache location for pickup to be reused.
