One of the favorite events of the summer saw thousands of fans flock to Lake Tahoe for the American Century Golf Championship. Only a few months ago, spectators weren’t allowed for the Tahoe NHL games. But on Friday, Edgewood Golf Course returned to normalcy with thousands of spectators for the celebrity golf tournament. See who was there and what fans had to say in the video above.

Hundreds will gather along the shores of Lake Tahoe this weekend to enjoy the 33rd annual American Century Golf Championship. Spectators can watch from the sidelines and cheer on their favorite celebrities. More than 80 celebs from the sports and entertainment world will play in this three-day tournament. Among those who are playing at Edgewood Tahoe South are: "Black-ish" actor Anthony Anderson, NBA hall of fame Charles Barkley, Warriors star Stephen Curry, singers Nick Jonas and Justin Timberlake, "SNL's" Colin Jost, NFLer Patrick Mahomes II, Football hall of famer Jerry Rice, actor Ray Romano.

A total of 129 'crazy' golfers turned out to tackle the watermill, negotiate the bends, twists, ramps and the windmill on this traditional seaside course. The (BMG) British Minigolf Association has dubbed this the spiritual home of crazy golf and the event attracts a loyal following of participants and spectators. The 18th edition of the tournament saw the players compete over six qualifying rounds on the 18-hole course, before the cut was made and the top 18 players went on to contest the final round on day two. Conditions for the latter were kinder to the field since the first day’s slightly overcast conditions had subsided. Amongst the obstacles on the World Championship course was a classic Windmill, a waterwheel, an obelisk, a lighthouse and various ramps and bunkers. This year for the first time some of the obstacles such as the windmill had been modified so players could not putt around the sides, so this made the course much harder. Professional fencing instructor Marc Chapman from Canterbury successfully defended his title having outputted the others over the tournament to seal his dominance. He finished the tournament with a final round of 28 with Ed Pope the runner up on 24

Wearing early 20th century-inspired attire and donning wooden shafted clubs, golf fans went back in time this week for the World Hickory Open Championship. The event, which took place at Panmure Golf Course in Scotland, celebrates the game’s heritage and how it used to be played. Participants from around the world dressed in outfits inspired by 1920s and 1930s golfing fashion.
