This area with historical monuments used to be a developed area in the past, but at present the condition of this Hampi is quite pathetic. It is turning into ruins.
Located in Karnataka, Hampi which is turning into ruins was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List during 1986 AD. At the time when Hampi used to be the main city of the Vijayanagara Empire, at that time around 500 monuments were seen here, which are currently taking the form of ruins
