PIE 6 Prepping for Road Test on July 5, 2024
We are proud to report: Less than 2 hours after this video we made the first successful road test with the PIE 6.0 demonstrating a much smoother thrust with less pulsation than any of the earlier models. Thanks for watching!

PIE 4.3 - Trying Out the New Motor (2 vids spliced together)
April 2021 - I wanted to try out the new motor as soon as I could so I used a piece of chain that I already had and fastened the motor to the board with screws. I was not going to video it running with 1 planet gear, but I tried it and I was able to splice that short clip onto the end of the first one.
Note: As I progressed through these many experiments, I have made well over 100 videos. All of them are on YouTube and many are also on BitChute. As these are sometimes “disappeared” on other platforms, I am uploading many of those here to keep the info available.

PIE 4.3 Disassembled for Analysis & Repair
I have disassembled the PIE 4.3 to analyze it for defects and to replace the drive pulley with a roller chain sprocket. Although the weights are very light, there is more than enough inertia to cause significant damage when things go wrong! Be sure to check out my blog and new website (still under construction) at www.stclairtech.tech https://grassrootsmechanicmovement.blogspot.com/

PIE 4.3 On Wheels, 1st Videoed Test
This is the first videoed test of the 4.3 on wheels. Preliminary testing has been very promising (not videoed) which had a measured 20 ounces (.566 kg) of thrust. Since I did nothing else but bolt the PIE to the cart, there were weaknesses that immediately caused mechanical failures on the outer stops and had to be repaired before this video was possible. Although the screws holding the bearing base to the wood base came loose, it needs to be noted that the thrust from the PIE actually kept the belt tight until is "spun down"!!!

PIE 4.3 With New Gears and Motor Bracket
The damaged gears have been replaced. Only 1 gear has a weight on it. Running on 12v and 24v without any lube on the gears. Grease on the gears will reduce the noise level some more.

Triple Planet Wheel Experiment
This is an experiment that has been on my list for some time now. Three planet gears orbiting the sun gear. I am not sure if it is an improvement or just more stuff going around, and since the others had very little thrust with one wheel I cannot say for sure if it is a success.

3 Gear Test and Possible Censorship
April 2021 - Testing out the movement with longer weights on the 3-planetary gear set. I also need to let everyone know that although I have been able to post everything with little interference, this past week has been punctuated with computer failures, lowered traffic on my blog and the total disappearance of the eBay listing of the PIE Builders Manual. Please take a moment to visit my blog, the website is fully functional (although not pretty), and the eBay listing for the manual is also repaired. www.stclairtech.tech https://www.bitchute.com/channel/miGkQfBM24NZ/

PIE 4 0 Inverted Chain Sun Gear First Bench Test
The PIE 4.0 is a high speed inertial drive design. This is a bench test run without weights at 850 RPMs. The silent-tooth gear design needs work before it can be used with the PIE, and the gears fabricated from scratch are not well suited for RPMs approaching 1000 or more. This sun gear uses a #40 roller sprocket with the teeth cut down and a roller chain placed on it making it a "spur gear" for chain sprockets to run against.

PIE 4 0 With Improved Sun Gear
Here is the PIE 4.0 inertial drive bench test #1 with a redesigned sun gear. I am still working to keep the overall cost as low as possible so machined spur gears are outside the constraints of the budget set to keep costs under $300 for each working unit. This promises to have a lot of potential, so enjoy, and yes I did drop the old sun gear... LOL

2 Wheel Opposing Spin 2 (Before Being Named PIE)
Second video of 2 with the successful outer stop design. This earlier video was taken while I was still using the opposing spin concept of Roy Thornson (which I later abandoned), and still using the belt that slipped. At this stage I was half-way between the Thornson drive and the PIE 1.0.

Inertial Propulsion is Real - PIE 1.0 Bench Test
This is my PIE (Pulsed Inertial Engine) 1.0, based on Thornson inertial drives. It produces enough power to self propel and this was the first unit tested as a hybrid engine in a motor vehicle. Even pulsed with the long pause between pulses it created a 6% engine load reduction repeatedly on the same test track. Inertial Propulsion is real. For more info go to www.stclairtech.tech and thanks for watching.

Timing Belt driven PIE, Running on Low 1st Time
Taken in May of 2020, this was the 1st time the T-Belt was turning the assembly with the weights and a tensioner installed. The planet gear timing was way off and one of the rollers was sitting in a cup to keep it from moving. After this vid was made, the unit was disassembled, reworked, and given a name "PIE", which stands for Pulsed Inertial Engine.

Second trial run after tear it down & reworking axle mounts, sun gear mounts, and timing adjustment locks. Now is sporting a new top bar and painted weights, the PIE (Pulsed Inertial Engine) is not on wheels because it will not stay on the bench without being tied down.

PIE 2.0 Self Propulsion Demo
This id the PIE 2.0. It was the second unit tested in a motor vehicle and it produced a 13% drop in engine load repeatedly on the test track. Tuning is slightly different between hybrid mode and self propelled mode, but regardless, it was a resounding success. For more info please visit www.stclairtech.tech where there are links to many more videos, free info, my blog, and a link to purchase a manual showing how to build and tune a PIE 1.0 and PIE 2.0.
