Investigators learned a nearby Petland pet store was also broken into after discovering animals roaming free in the parking lot. Officers recovered multiple dogs, birds and rabbits at the scene. Officers also discovered a nearby Famous Footwear store had been broken into. At around 4:45 a.m., Officers found 31-year-old Matthew Pancake in leopard-print pajamas sleeping on a bench near a Big Lots store on Roberts Road. Bodycam footage of the arrest shows officers waking Pancake and ordering him to get on the ground. As officers handcuff and pat down Pancake, an officer discovers a small animal inside his pajama pants. The four hamsters found in Pancake's pants were ultimately returned to the pet store. Pancake was treated for injuries he suffered while allegedly breaking into one of the stores. The warrant specified that the driver had personal property amounting to $7,911, which came into Officer Chapman's possession as he transported the driver to the University City Division Team Office. According to the warrant, once at the office, Officer Chapman requested another officer to transport the driver to jail. During the transfer, as the assisting officer began searching the driver, both the driver and the assisting officer heard a rubber band snap. The driver immediately accused Officer Chapman of stealing money that had been bound by the rubber band. The warrant details that the driver observed Officer Chapman with the money between his legs and noticed him moving his left hand towards the driver's door pocket of his patrol vehicle. The assisting officer corroborated the driver’s account. A sergeant approached the scene as the allegations were being made. The warrant claims that Officer Chapman appeared nervous and fidgeted inside his vehicle before stepping out and emptying his pockets, stating he didn’t have any money. However, the driver pointed out the money in the door pocket of Chapman's patrol vehicle. The sergeant found $900 in the door pocket, as confirmed by the warrant. Officer Chapman denied knowledge of the money's presence but later admitted to taking the money, claiming he had no intention of stealing it. He subsequently apologized to the sergeant and two other sergeants. Following an evaluation of the evidence, detectives arrested Officer Chapman and charged him with one count of embezzlement. This area was being actively monitored by surveillance cameras used by CMPD’s Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) as part of the department’s crime reduction initiatives. During this time, members of the RTCC observed a male subject on the video surveillance remove a firearm, which had been concealed within the waistband of his clothing and manipulate the firearm before further concealing it back into his clothing. RTCC notified officers of the armed subject prior to their arrival on scene. Upon arrival, officers exited their patrol vehicles and observed what appeared to be a drug transaction between the armed subject, 33-year-old Timothy Deangelo Moore, and another individual in the parking lot of the 2100 block of Beatties Ford. As officers approached, Moore, who is known to Metro Division officers, fled the area on foot. Officers issued multiple verbal commands for Moore to show his hands. During the short foot pursuit, the Moore retrieved a firearm from his waistband and turned his body in the direction of the officer. The officer perceived an imminent and lethal threat and fired a single shot at Moore, causing him to fall to the ground. Officers quickly placed Moore into custody, recovered the firearm and began to render medical aid. The Charlotte Fire Department and MEDIC responded to the scene. MEDIC transported Moore to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No officers were injured in this incident. Upon Moore’s release from the hospital, he was transferred into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and charged with the following: Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Resisting a Public Officer and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. The anonymous reporting party called to report, someone shooting bullets from a van. The suspect had also blocked access to the parking area to another neighbor and had brandished a firearm at her. The person being blocked in by the suspect was a mother, returning home to her children in the apartment complex. At approximately 4:16 p.m., a two officer unit arrived on scene. Approximately 1 minute later, officers broadcasted over the radio that they were being shot at by the suspect. Two officers returned fire, the suspect reloaded his firearm and ran Northbound through the apartment complex. Additional responding officers arrived on scene and were positioned in the area to where the suspect was fleeing. The suspect then encountered one of those officers. The suspect pointed his firearm at one of the responding officers while aggressively advancing towards him, when a third officer discharged his firearm striking the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody at approximately 4:21 p.m.. Responding officers immediately provided medical aid to the suspect and summoned medical personnel to the scene. The suspect was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for his injuries. A loaded, unregistered firearm was recovered from the suspect at the scene. The suspect is 41-year-old Ricardo Villareal, a resident of San Jose. Authorities located Hopkins outside the hotel. During the arrest attempt, officers noticed Hopkins was armed with a knife. Despite deploying tasers and a bean bag gun, Hopkins managed to stab a GCSO K-9 unit and fled to the nearby Bank of America parking lot. In the ensuing chaos, three deputies opened fire on Hopkins, striking him. Hopkins was subsequently taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital to treat his injuries, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). No officers were injured during the incident. The K-9 unit, which was stabbed during the confrontation, was rushed to an animal hospital. The GCSO reported that the K-9 Micky has since recovered and was released on Friday, being taken home by his handler. Officers Arim Ismail, Tisha Knickerbocker and Riley Lackey arrived at the scene at around 7:30 a.m. and made their way towards the home. As officers approached the home from the street, the woman, identified as 49-year-old Shilo Rice, charged towards them while wielding a knife. Officers ordered Rice to stop but she continued to run towards officers, at which time all three officers fired. Rice was struck multiple times. Officers rendered aid until medical personnel arrived at the scene. At that time, the pursuit was terminated due to the danger to the public, as the suspect driver was traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers obtained a warrant to seize the vehicle and, on Wednesday (May 22), it was located at apartment complex at 9475 West Sam Houston Parkway South service road (Beltway 8). Officers stopped the vehicle in the parking lot and informed the driver the vehicle was being seized. At that time, the driver stepped out of the car and also removed his 5-year-old daughter from the front passenger seat. The driver then began reaching around near the center console area, while ignoring verbal commands from officers to get out of the car and stop reaching. Sergeant Ham, with his duty weapon in hand, positioned himself behind the suspect, who continued to reach into the front passenger side of the vehicle. The suspect then abruptly turned around, rushed toward Sergeant Ham and knocked him to the ground. During the struggle, Sergeant Ham's duty weapon discharged and no one was struck. Officer Gonzalez, who was on the other side of the car, heard the gunshot and saw Sergeant Ham fall to the ground. Fearing he had been shot, Officer Gonzalez discharged her duty weapon at the suspect at least once. The suspect was not struck and he fled from officers on foot. Additional responding officers pursued the suspect on foot, but briefly lost sight of him. As officers continued to search for the suspect, he robbed a female at gunpoint. He was eventually located again, with assistance from an HPD Air Support helicopter, and taken into custody without further incident. The suspect, 30-year-old Robert Johnson is charged with four felony crimes in the 183rd State District Court. Those charges include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated robbery, felon in possession of a firearm and possession with intent to deliver marijuana. A fifth charge, misdemeanor evading arrest on foot, was also filed in Harris County Criminal Court #13. HPD Sergeant M. Ham and Officer M. Gonzalez, who discharged their weapons, were not injured in the incident. * (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Delta, Colorado — On October 10, 2023, Delta Police Department Officers were dispatched to 157 Bert Street in Delta. The reporting party reported that there was a “strange man” in her driveway who had gone through a window of a house and then exited the back door. Because there was confusion about the address, Officer Mark Bowen was the first to arrive and make contact with 43-year-old Jeremy Kuzov. Kuzov approached Bowen’s patrol car and said, “you know I’m gonna be sorry here soon.” Bowen asked, “you’re going to be sorry?” and “what do you mean?” Kuzov backed up against Bowen’s patrol vehicle and said, “what are you getting on me for?” and “This b***h just fu****g killed my kid.” Kuzov appeared highly agitated. He and was running his hands through his hair, crossing his arms, breathing deeply, and opening and closing his mouth in an unusual manner. Officer Bowen asked, “okay, so why are you going into the house?” and Kuzov responded, “because I was looking for my daughter.” Bowen attempted to place Kuzov in handcuffs and he exclaimed “no” and started to back up. Bowen drew his taser and Kuzov charged at Bowen and simultaneously attempted to grab the taser and throw punches at Bowen, hitting him in the head at least once. Kuzov deployed his taser probes and discharged it multiple times without effect. Kuzov continued charging and kicking at Bowen and they headed south down Bert Street. Bystander P.O. attempted to contact and calm Kuzov down causing Kuzov to back onto the sidewalk. Bowen pulled his firearm and ordered Kuzov to put his hands in the air and to get on the ground. Kuzov ignored these commands and started moving back toward 157 Bert Street and in front of an R.V. parked in the driveway. Kuzov continued to act aggressively saying things like “I’m gonna light this mother fu***r up” as he gestured toward Bowen and “f*** you!” Eventually, Kuzov appeared to comply and put his hands on his head. Bowen was extremely close to Kuzov when he rapidly dropped his hands and turned to run away from Bowen. Bowen fired his weapon hitting Kuzov in the back. As Kuzov leaned against the R.V., Bowen ran to Kuzov and tried to restrain him. Kuzov continued to struggle with Bowen, forcing Bowen to take him to the ground. While doing this, Bowen radioed dispatch to send an ambulance. Other officers arrived and placed Kuzov into custody before medics arrived and transported Kuzov to the hospital. His father last year said Kuzov had to spend time on a ventilator and in ICU. According to Kuzov’s medical records he was diagnosed with a gunshot wound to the chest, resulting in “multiple left rib fractures” and a “contusion of lung”, but “no intra-abdominal injury.” According to his toxicology screen, Kuzov tested positive for Amphetamines, Methamphetamines, Opiates, and Benzodiazepines. Prospect Avenue in the Town of Grand Chute. When they arrived, deputies observed 22-year-old William Jae Kil Nelson with a knife. Outagamie County Sheriff’s Deputy Noah Yeck, 1.5 years law enforcement service, attempted to use a taser on Nelson without success. Outagamie County Sheriff’s Sergeant Ellis Brooks, 10 years law enforcement service, discharged his firearm, striking Nelson. Life saving measures were performed. Nelson was transported to a local hospital and has since succumb to his injuries. The individual was identified as Mary McElroy, who was known to have an active warrant. Aware of McElroy's history of violent behavior, Patrolman Rammel called for assistance from the Brown County Sheriff’s Office. Upon approaching McElroy, Patrolman Rammel informed her of the warrant. She observed pre-attack indicators from the suspect and attempted to evade being struck in the face. Deputy Hardy arrived on the scene and promptly moved everyone away from the immediate roadway to safety. Together, Patrolman Rammel and Deputy Hardy attempted to control McElroy. After a struggle, they were able to place her in restraints. During the altercation, Patrolman Rammel sustained cuts, bruises, damaged uniform, and was spit on, necessitating medical treatment and evaluation. McElroy was subsequently booked into the Brown County Jail on multiple charges, including resisting arrest, obstruction, and assault of a police officer. Ptl.
