10 Minutes Before Fajr ᴴᴰ ┇ Amazing Reminder ┇ by Ustadh Saad Tasleem ┇ TDR Production ┇
One of the things that psychologists often discuss is that nights are usually considered a spiritual time. And this why you see, when people go out on dates and stuff like that, when do they usually go out? During the day or at night? So people are more likely to be in touch with their spiritual side and their feelings and their emotions and what Islam does is that it takes advantage of this time. A believer takes that spiritual time, and they take that emotional time and they devote it to their Lord. And one of the things that the scholars often talk about is that the night is a testimony of a person's love. So whatever a person loves, you'll see that they usually devote their night to that. So is a person's only concern in life is to have fun, and party, and maximize pleasure, they'll spend their night trying to do that. If a person's concern is their afterlife and their love for Allah, then they will spend their night in concern about their Akhirah (hereafter), and they will spend their night devoted to Allah ('azza wa jal) as Allah ('azza wa jal) said, '...wallazeena 'aamanooo 'ashaddu hubbal-lillaah...' (2:165) -- 'That those who believe, they're stronger in their love for Allah ('azza wa jal). And one of the things that is often said by the classical scholars and even scholars of our time, is that if we want to rectify this ummah, if we wanna change, if we really really care about this ummah, we really want to change this ummah, then we will not be able to do it except that which changed the beginning of this ummah. Then we have to look at the Sunnah of the Prophet [ﷺ] and how the companions did it, and it is in that, that we are gonna find our ummah come to life...and the thing about the companions, like I mentioned is that, what they had, and what is missing from our time, is that, that attribute of going above and beyond the bare minimum. A lot of times, people whom start practicing Islam, they'll have this imaan high and they're doing really really well and then a time will come where they'll be like, 'you know, it just doesn't feel the same anymore.' Or a lot of times, reverts and converts will say, 'When I first became Muslim, it was the most amazing experience of my life, and I want that back. I want that experience back. And one of the first questions I ask these people is, 'How is your connection with Allah? How is your Qiyamul-Layl? When was the last time you got up in the middle of the night, or the last third of the night to pray to your Lord? When it comes to Qiyamul-Layl, one of the advices I often give and I give this advice because this was the advice that was given to me by my teachers is if you want to pray Qiyamul-Layl, all you have to do is just try it. And I'm not talking about spending a third of the night praying or half of the night praying, I'm saying get up 10 minutes before Fajr, just 10 minutes before Fajr. And we know that the Prophet [ﷺ] told us that it is the last third of the night where Allah ('azza wa jal) comes down to the lowest parts of the heaven and he asks, he says, 'which one of my servants is seeking for my forgiveness? That I may forgive them' and 'Which one of my servants is seeking my mercy that I may be merciful for them? Which one of my servants is asking of me, that I may give to them?' and that, that third of the night is still there in the last 10 minutes before Fajr.

Too Lazy To Pray? - Watch This! ᴴᴰ ┇ Amazing Reminder ┇ by Mufti Ismail Menk
Turn to Allah, read your five Salah a day. A Muslim?! And he does not read five Salah? Allahu Akbar! How can that be? My brothers and sisters, if you have read one in the past, and now you're reading two, it's a very big improvement. But that is not still...the ideal. You need to continue, because as muslimeen, we have five prayers during the day and night. If you look at the hadith of Mu'adh ibn Jabal (radiyAllahu Anhu), when he was sent to Yemen; he was told to teach the people several items. From amongst them, one of them was tell them...they OWE Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) five daily prayers, not two, not three. You know, we word it differently when we speak to the younger people. Sometimes we tell them you know, you need a key to enter; for example let's say Paradise! You want to enter Paradise, you need a key. You want to enter this door, you need a key. Each key, has a number of teeth. Just like if I want to phone you, I need your phone number. Brother, if I have one error in the whole phone number, I won't get through to you. You see. So, if I would like Paradise, I need to read five Salah on a daily basis. That is the figure. That is the number of teeth on the key. If you have one tooth missing, what happens? Try it! Take your key and break out one tooth, put it in. It won't open your door. But there are so many other teeth! One is missing. My brothers and sisters, against your laziness...or mine, against...the coziness of your bed, against, whatever...you are doing in the mall, or at your workplace, or enjoying with your family. Stop everything at the time of Salah and quickly fulfill your Salah. Imagine I'm saying 'quickly' whereas by right it is not suposed to be done quickly. But! Even if you have done it, in the midst of your work and you have fulfilled that Salah, come what may! Wallahi that may just be the means of your entry into Paradise. Some of us are not submitters. You know, we follow Islam where it, where it is easy for us, ONLY. Well, we need to do better than that. Which means, where it is easy, all praise be to Allah. Where it is difficult, we still want to try, and we still want to please Allah (Exalted & Glorified may He be).
The other day, I got a beautiful message on my phone I need to share it with you...It showed a little, caricature lifting weights. You know weights, which have heavy weights, I think maybe 60-70 kilos on either side. And he's lifting weights, he says, 'You think you're strong?' You see the question is, 'You think you are powerful?.' Obviously this is because the young people of today, they want to have big muscles you know, and they want to be seen! And they want to be felt, when they greet you, you just got to say, 'wa alaykumussalam' (in a humble tone), you know. Cause you cannot look at them anymore in the way we used to in the past. No! Big man! You got to look at him carefully. So it says, 'if you think you're very strong...you can lift...lift your blanket for Salat-ul-Fajr, then you will be strong.' Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! You're strong? You want to lift, lift your blanket at Salat-ul-Fajr. That is the heavyweight title, Allahu Akbar!

Going Through Tough Times? - Watch This! ᴴᴰ ┇ Emotional Islamic Reminder ┇ Sh. Bilal Assad ┇ TDR ┇
Speaker: Ustadh Bilal Assad
"Ayyoob (عليه السلام)...Ayyoob (عليه السلام), he had 14 children...and he had great health and wealth, everybody loved him. One day, after 80 years, Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) took away all of his 14 children...one by one...then He took away his wealth...then He took away his health until the narration says that his skin used to fall off his body until you could see his muscles and his bones, and he is still alive, breathing. Not only that, the people began to say if this man was a good person, Allah wouldn't have done this to him...and so he lost his close friends. One day, his wife came and said: "Ya Ayyoob (عليه السلام)! Isn't it enough now?! Can't you ask Allah to get rid of this? It's enough! We've gone through too much!" Ayyoob (عليه السلام) then said: "My wife, how long did Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) give me blessings for?" She said: "80 years or so." He said: "I'm too shy to ask Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) to cure me, yet, until 80 years of this time has gone as well. He has given me so much." It was after 7 years, however, when he saw his wife resorted to taking from her hair and selling it. Then he said: "Rabbi..." Even look at the way the Prophet (عليه السلام), he asked Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) to cure him. He didn't say, "O Allah! Cure me! O Allah! You have harmed me! O Allah! You brought the sickness! Take it away from me!" No! No! No!...He said: "O my Lord! Harm has afflicted me." He didn't even attribute it to Allah (سبحانه و تعالى)...because when harm comes to a Muslim, and Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) afflicts you with some kind of hardship, it's actually good for you...I'm gonna say the hadith in a minute...وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِين - "Wa Anta Arhamurrahimeen!" "And You are the Most Merciful!" Allah says: فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ فَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِ مِن ضُرٍّ ۖ وَآتَيْنَاهُ أَهْلَهُ وَمِثْلَهُم مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِنَا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْعَابِدِين - Taken from Quran (2:83-84). We took away all the harm away from him...We gave him his family back and his children back, and doubled their amount. We gave him wealth...grasshoppers, like the shape of grasshoppers, of gold began to rain onto Ayyoob (عليه السلام). He used to pick them up...and he used to...yaa'ni...more than what he had. In a hadith it says, he would go around, picking (up) as much as he can so quickly...and then Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) sent Jibreel (عليه السلام) and said to him: "Ya Ayyoob! Are you not already being given enough Blessings? (Why are you trying to hog everything up, yaa'ni, in other words?) Don't worry, We are giving you Blessings! Why are you so quick and wanting to gather it all?" He said: "Ya Rabb! Who is there that can take enough of your Na'maa? (Enough of your Blessings) I'm gathering your Blessing Ya Rabb!" So a Muslim...Allah loves to see His servant taking from His Blessing. He loves it...and thanking Allah for His Blessing, if when in a hardship, they also thank Allah and they are patient."
