Up Pace 5K Run, Las Gilces, Ecuador, then rambling on walking back on my cooldown.
After the run I rambled on about things for about 5 minutes You may find some of the stuff interesting. How we ended up in Ecuador and other misc. things. Had a faster than normal 5K today. 5:17 pace. I am going to do a 10K through another little village some time later in the week. If I think if taking my camera I may get some video in a new mall down here in Manta, Ecuador on Thursday. We are going in to do a little shopping and have a nice lunch. Maybe sushi or a good steak. Run Through La Gilces, Ecuador
A 5k run this morning. 5:26 pace. I had a couple other runs this week but had issues with the video. I am bummed that I needed to reschedule my trip to Colombia. Ecuador changed there regulations on how recent your PCR test must be and I would not have had time to get a new PCR test in time to reenter Ecuador. So I have rescheduled my trip to May 10th. 2 min. warmup with a 5 min hard Garmin Benchmark run
I started a 5k training program through Garmin. Today was a 5 min benchmark run, (a 5 minute as hard run) that will be used to tailor my running program. The workouts are automatically downloaded to the Garmin watch and you upload your workouts to Garmin to modify your workouts. I prefer a road run for a faster run however we had a lot of rain last night so the road out front was a mud hole.

Crucita, Ecuador Unscheduled Beach Run
I didn't plan to run today, but I was up and down a ladder a lot yesterday afternoon and my calf's were a little sore this morning. So I went for an easy jog just to loosen up my legs. I did 7K @ 6:48 pace including all my stops during the jog. Today I took the neckless pendent mount for the camera and ended up editing most of it out. It was in no way stable enough to watch when jogging. Maybe if you were walking in a mall or something like that. At 3:42 to 3:52 I left in a piece when it was on the chest mount on the pendent. So far the clip on a hat or sweat band is the most stable video. I have a 6" selfie stick that came with it and may try that my next run just to see how if feels running with it in my hand. Still investigating to find the most stable video. You can follow me on Strava and see my stats @

March 26th I am flying to Bogota so I should get a couple runs at 9000' elevation. I'm sure it will be a killer since I have been at sea level for well over a year now. I will probably shoot some other videos of the area around our apartment.

5k Beach Run, Crucita Ecuador
This mornings run was to La Boca on the beach. There was a glare off the water on the beach making the video harder to see. Hopefully over the next few days I can get a better video. I am thinking about trying to add some narration to the video. The camera records intermittently so I don't know when its on or off making narration while running difficult. It was early today so not many people out. Follow me on Strava and see my run data @ https://www.strava.com/activities/4918096935

Crucita, Ecuador. 5k Followed by a 2k, Then a Walk Down the Melecon.
Crucita, Ecuador. My 5k run today was @ 5:25 pace, then I did a cooldown of 1.7k @ 6:02 pace. My VO2 Max went up to 49 today.
Im looking forward to a couple runs in Colombia the end of this month. I am flying into Bogota for 4 days and I should get 2 runs in. Elevation will be around 9,000'. I will also have a few videos in the area. There is a nice mall close to our apartment there, so I will probably have some video inside the mall.

I am trying to run different routes to show the general area around here. Low tide will be early morning Wednesday so I will do some beach runs next week until low tide changes to afternoon. There is a backpacker spot called La Boca about 5k up the beach so I hope to get up that way.

10K Run On A Rainy Day in Ecuador
Running in Ecuador. Today was a rainy, dreary and muddy day. They are widening, and paving the main road for me to run to Crucita. But now its a mess. I retired my (Hoha One One, Rincon) shoes after this run with 604 Kilometers on them. They were about shot anyway and with the mud caked on after the run I tossed them. The video took clips for the first 35 min and stopped. I think I forgot to change the length of the record from 30 min to 1 hour. So this was about 1/2 the run. You can see my run stats on Strava @ https://www.strava.com/activities/4877406036
10.04K @ 59:54
I was in zone 2 for this whole video although you wouldn't know it by the way I was breathing on the video. LOL The second half I went into zone 3 to finish up my 10k.

Crucita, Ecuador Beach Run
Just learning Rumble and the Insta360 Go camera. This is just a short clip at the finish of my 5k on the beach today. I plan to have more extensive coverage of future runs in the area. I am also going to be in Colombia in a month and will have a couple runs there. I want to do a watch review (Garmin 245 Music) and talk about my shoes (Nike, Brooks, Hoka) in the future. Cover different running topics. Im thinking about running a 1/2 marathon or full marathon in August here in Manta.

Our Brand New $70,000 House in Ecuador. Jan. 2020.
This is a before video. We have since brought in fill dirt and built a fence around the property. We found the split rail fence close to the right side of the house wasnt the property line and it was actually at the solid fence along the neighbors pool. Its a double lot that includes the hole to the left of the house. Its now filled. A great ocean and sunset view from any of the balconies. Yes you can live like this on just your Social Security. We now have about $80,000 invested that includes all fill, fencing, appliances and furnishings inside. Garage under construction and included in the current costs. Estimate finished cost, fully furnished with 20' x 20' Garage will be about $85,000. Current video to come soon. I have been keeping a spreadsheet of all expences since we arrived in Ecuador.
Ask questions. Happy to respond.

Sunset in San Lorenzo, Ecuador
San Lorenzo is a small beach village just south of Manta, Ecuador. It has limited resourses like stores and services. A few resterants along the beach and a couple small tiendas selling water and some basic staples. A shuttle to Manta which is only 35 minutes away costs $1.00. One leaves about every 20 minutes.
