In this video we dig a new ditch along the road, move our culvert pipes into my property a bit so the turn radius into the property is better, and we start digging the basement to build our shop / apartment base pad. We use an excavator made by yanmar, and my skid steer s250, and also my dad's little Ford tractor to build the pad at the top of the hill.

Used the Bobcat S250 to remove the top soil where the shop will be built. Next, finish clearing the trees along the road and then rent an excavator to dig the borrow pit and do some ditch work. Fun times coming!

This is a huge project but needs to be tackled. We're going to dig a new ditch and fill in the old ditch to attempt to widen the road. Should be awesome once it's done! This video isn't much exciting stuff. Just taking down some trees mostly and dragging them out of the way with the Bobcat S250 skid steer.

Finally finished the never-ending pile of wood. That took way longer than I expected but it was a more wood than I imagined too. Then I started working the ground where the shop will be built. I need to dig out all the dirt and replace it with clay and rock.

Seriously thought I'd have this done by now but it just keeps going and going! I've worked on splitting for about 12 hrs plus more time stacking. I've decided that this pile may just never be finished.

We've been working on moving the top part of the driveway to the West a bit so it's further away from the future house. I shove over a monster tree on this one using the bobcat s250 and then we clean up the trees I already drove over the last time I was out there. Making progress!

In this video, I continue splitting on the same pile as my last video. It's in the way of where I'll eventually build my shop. (Who knows when that'll be!) Then I haul off some stumps to get them out of the way. Stump cemetery number 2 is born.

It's time to split some wood! We have 3 piles that are about this big so it's time to get them split so they can start drying out. This this particular pile is sitting directly where the shop is going to be built so I have to at least get it split and get it out of the way. This isn't my best video but oh well.

We're moving the driveway away from the side of the house a bit. Pushing some more trees down with the S250. Be careful if you use your forks to dig, the welds can break at the cross bar where the forks hook to the front of the skid steer. That means the metal will bend as well.

In this video, I use the s250 bobcat skidsteer to dig and push over some bigger trees. Making some good progress on the area the house will eventually be built. Should be able to get thst area done in the next trip.

We're preparing to build a live-in shop so we can be on site when we are building the house. This video shows the action. I push over probably 10 or so good size trees, stumps and all, using my Bobcat s250.

We marked the site for where we want to build so we could start getting a vision of what needs to happen next.

This is a great way to clean up your head lights and improve your visibility. Takes about 7 minutes per head light.

About an inch of snow but still made it to the top of the driveway in just two wheel drive. Split some wood and shoved a few trees over too.

Took a short break to swing on a vine. Next time, I may seriously swing.

There's still a large amount of cutting to be done down the driveway but finished them up on the top of the hill.

My father-in-law has to replace the thermostat in his 2001 Nissan Frontier. The check engine light signaled to him that the thermostat was having issues.

I'm back at it. Fell some trees. Bang some wedges to fell a couple uphill against the slope. One goes great, the other not as planned but still works out fine.

I've finished the power line path finally! I do still need to burn one more pile of brush but in my book it's finished! Next up, I'm going to try and split a bunch of the wood. I still need to cut up all of the trees that are stacked at the top of the hill, but I think I'll let them get rained on for a little bit 1st to clean off all of the mud. I finished up by climbing one final tree. It was too rotten to use a wedge to fall it up hill.

I climb 3 trees and take the entire upper 2/3rds of the trees down. Tree number 2 gets intense and I dodged catastrophe. All worked out well fortunately.
