Very much out in the middle of nowhere, at the junction of some random tracks in the Kaokoveld/Namib desert, there is an old oil drum painted bright red. Written on it are some GPS coordinates and the name 'Jan Joubert'. Why? We continue our exciting Land Rover journey in Namibia, sharing both some personal stories around the unique desert icon that is Red Drum (Rooidrum) and explaining a little of the sad history of the actual drum itself.
