However we also find that besides the 5 step brothers of His, children of Joseph and his first wife, their were girls in the home also, 'sisters' that were in fact children of poorer relatives that were raised in Mary and Joseph's family. It is thus possible that Mary could've indeed brought other children into their physical life, but not as a mother, but as a midwife, especially for the little girls that later were kept in the family.
