London museum to return stolen "Benin Bronzes" artifacts to Nigeria
The Horniman Museum and Gardens in London says it will be returning 72 artifacts, including Benin bronzes, to the Nigerian government that were stolen in 1897.
For centuries, the craft of the bronze casters of Benin City, Nigeria has been passed down through generations. But thousands of the famous pieces dating back to the 1200s were taken by British colonizers.
As Redmond Shannon reports, now museums around the world are returning some artifacts to their rightful owners.

Calgary dog owner concerned about airline pet safety after pup left on tarmac in 30 degree heat
Calgary dog owner Jenna Richardson-Prager is voicing concerns after her pup Cleo was left on the tarmac of Halifax’s airport for about 30 minutes in 30-degree heat.
Richardson-Prager said the pair were set to fly out from Halifax’s airport to Calgary this past Saturday when she checked six-year-old Cleo in. She said about an hour before the flight, she looked out the window of the airport and there was Cleo — sitting in her cage on the tarmac with two other dogs — while crews unloaded the previous flight.
She said she went to talk to WestJet — three separate times — to express her concerns, but she was told each time that everything was alright. Tomasia DaSilva reports.
