Rolex Middle Sea Race – 22 October – Start from Valletta
An impressive international fleet of 118 yachts commenced the 2022 Rolex Middle Sea Race from Valletta, Malta earlier today. This year marks the 43rd edition of the event which was first held in 1968. Rolex has partnered both the race and its organizers, the Royal Malta Yacht Club since 2002. Following the start from Valletta’s impressive Grand Harbour, the fleet take on one of sailing’s most scenic and challenging race courses. Covering 606-nautical miles (1,122 kilometres) it features an anticlockwise circumnavigation of Sicily, two active volcanoes, including Stromboli, the race’s undisputed iconic landmark. Light conditions are forecast this year meaning that both the multihull and monohull race records set in 2021 are unlikely to be broken. Discover more https://on.rolex.com/3TA7BFi
