When the land bridge at Gibraltar collapsed, the Mediterranean basin filled up again. The Suez Canal is today connected to the Red Sea. This route enables animals to reach the Mediterranean, where they cause problems.

The main goal is to discover a new species unknown to science: a large pit viper that has not been classified yet. It will be tracked down and filmed alive for the first time. Spanish herpetologists Juan Timms and Jairo Cuevas will conduct an intense search to capture some of the most dangerous snakes on the South American continent.
