Prashar Lake and Temple in Himachal Pradesh of India
Parashar Lakeis in theMandi districtofHimachal Pradesh. It contains afloating island. The lake is believed to be the microcosm of the planet with the floating island being its axis of revolution. Theisland floats toward the east in the morningand reaches the west by the evening. The local residents go on to say that the time when the island ceases to float would be the time of catastrophe. It has a three storiedpagoda-like temple on its bank dedicated to the sage Prashar who meditated here. The temple was built by Raja Ban Sen of Mandi in 14th century in honor of the sage.
