This video describes the installation of the spring creek stabilizer system and transom mount, I am in the ICW a lot.. which means wind and tide. The tempest is a pedal kayak, however, I prefer to have some range.. I also run a 21lb 3hp gas outboard .. to get to where i want to fish.. and then use the pedal drive to maneuver around docks and pylons or in the marsh and when i am out in the Atlantic, I will use it to reset a drift over the reefs. I picked up a little 36lb thrust minn kota for 50.00 on fb market and i wanted to give it a test run, it pushed the jonny bass at about 2.5 mph .. it was a super calm day .. except for the boat wake of course.. this is on the icw in the Wilmington area and we did catch some flatties.. but season is closed so they went back in to grow some more.

So I got the 2.5 hp 4 stroke, all cleaned up, new fuel valve, gear oil.. all the good maintenance stuff done on it.. and this is basically the first run with it on the jonny. The thumbnail is how I load and unload the jonny .. using a T extender .. which I padded .. and use for roof rack mounting.

So I just purchased 100ah lithium battery from tobatteries.com on ebay its one of the least expensive batteries that had decent reviews 499.99 is about 150-200.00 less then the brand name battery companies 23lbs ..it replaces the walmart deepcycle that was 61lbs and 85ah and it performed very well.. it was a 2 hour outing.. cut short due to sporadic rain.. that had some thunder.. its the thought of being out on the water with a lightning rod in my hand that cuts the trip short :)

so I picked up a few upgrades for my jonny bass 100 and plans for the future which will make it the ideal fishing system I car top the jonny now, the trailer is gone.. dealing with trailer parking was a hassle.. so the opening shot is the last hurrah for the trailer

Took the johnny bass to Rudee inlet to try for some trout/flounder/spanish the boat traffic is very dense .. both in volume and in some cases mentally...

so I just bought a johnny bass 100 (used) as this is my solo budget kayak fishing platform... i have lots of plans.. and I will be making videos of each step in the process of getting my Johnny bass up to speed for fishing in North Carolina!
