HVAC install has begun and it was a great experience. The slight uncertainty on vent locations was cleared after the complete install and meeting with our awesome builder! We even had a choice in our 2nd return air vent placement. Ending with a visit from two wonderful friends. All windows ( except one on back order ) were installed in one day. The main entry doors also installed. A this point the momentum really started to pick up. Stay tuned for whats to come! Hope you enjoy the video. :-)

We have steps and shingles on the roof. Doors and windows delievered and almost ready to be installed. :-)

Install of the roof boards and roof wrap took a few days but it was a fun experience watching the process. Enjoy the video.

On this day we arrived to see the beginnings of the second floor being framed up. We also had family from out of town stop by to check out the build site.

My mother recently told me how my Grandfather had her childhood home built back in 1954. This led me down the path of researching how life was back in 1954 in Winston-Salem. My Mom and Stepdad visit the build site for the first time and get a grand tour of the framing. Hope you all enjoy.

Despite the rain the framers started framing the house out and we were super excited. The momentum really picked up at this point. Hope you all enjoy the video! :-)

Another joyus day of movement on the build of our Dream Home. We had framing material dropped off and within the next day the Joist and Floor boards were installed. It's starting to look like a house...kind of right. Too bad there wasen't any music playing, no telling what kind of dance moves we'd capture on camera. LOL

Today's video is 4 days wrapped up into one. We had alot going on in these four days with the crawl space dirt flattend, the water proofing of the crawl space, then grading, creation of a drain pipe, then semi-final grading all wrapped up into one 18 mins video :-) Framing is right around the corner.

The Silt fence took a hit after several days of rain so we had to repair it. We also had three large trees removed. During this time the masonary team kicked it into high gear and finished the crawl space. :-) Enjoy the video.

Over these next several days the crawl space was built, bricked, and completed which means next up is...floor joist. Enjoy the video :-)

This is the continuation of the Tree Chopping Weekend, but this time we brought serious back up. We are one step closer to completion. Enjoy the video. :-)

On this day we decided to clear the lot/build site of all the small trees and over grown grass. Anything we can do to get one step closer to completion we will do, and why not...it's fun and part of our journey. There will be a part two to this and possibly a part three, tree removal was way more time consuming than we initially thought, enjoy the video. :-)

On this day we had visitors come check out the progress of the Home building process. Lots of material delievered and plenty of room to place them.

The day we have been waiting for. Breaking some real ground. Foundation of a home is extreamly important and we learned just how important on this day. Sit back, relax and enjoy the video.

Today we were told to check out the flag placement of the home done by the surveyors on our lot. Placement matters, so we discussed in detail on different placement options before approving the final layout observed today. Enjoy the video. :-)

With the shortage of home appliances and the insanely large stock back order for most companies we decided it be best to order appliances for the new home early, lock in our price, and not have to worry about not getting a full set. The question was, where in the world would we store them until the house was complete? Garage clean out plan activated.

This was the first sign of some movement towards buidling our DREAM HOME. The install of a culvert pipe, a gravel construction drive way, and the lot had been scrapped. We also un officially staked out the build site just to get an idea of the home placement.

Today we share with you one of the most exciting days of our lives as we start our journey of building our dream home. This was the day we closed on our construction loan which is a important and time consuming process, so making it this far was huge for us.
