Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Caterpillar. It turns into a large species with a wingspread 3 to 5.5 inches . Adults are yellow with black bands on the front wings of the butterfly.

Beautiful day on Clingmans Dome observation tower. Highest peak in the Smoky Mountains ( 6643 feet ) and the third highest peak east of the Mississippi. The tower is 54 feet high.
