Trying to gain some confidence in some of my backpacking gear. A night in the woods near home, was a good place to sit out a snowstorm.

Before they can be useful around the house and on trail, they need to become comfortable pulling items without being easily spooked.

Soon the goats will be on trail w me , carrying some of my gear. I need to get them used to the sound and feel of hauling a pack on their back to prevent them from freakin.

A very Touristy trip one of the Nation’s Treasures. From bus stop to bus stop, jumping out and taking pics and vids. From Yaki Point to Hermits Rest .

While working I the greenhouse I spotted this very young, very small Praying Mantis

A swarm attempts to leave a hive , but the something didn’t go as planned. Maybe the queen refused to leave, or couldn’t fly. Maybe the queen was lost? Not certain, but the bees all returned and landed on the hive and eventually went back inside. They tried to leave again the next day, and the same thing happened.

While working in my Beeyard I noticed that a colony had cast off a swarm. Fortunately it rested in my yard and was in a place easy to get to. By setting an empty hive near to them, and encouraging a few bees to enter in to it, they soon all marched in. Then.... it was as simple as putting the hive on a stand where I wanted the to stay permanently.

Springtime is here. Time to give the bees some space, or watch em fly away in a swarm when the hive gets too full. I use 8 Frame Medium Supers for everything (just what I do) and now is the time give the bees more space.

“That Hiking Guy” arranged a meetup of hikers at the Hoosier National Forest,Deam Wilderness. The event took place on the weekend of March 19-20. I was fortunate enough to be invited, and met some great fellow Hoosier backpackers. Several of the the attendees had their own YouTube channels and I’m sure they too will be posting videos of this event . Those other channels are “That Hiking Guy” “Trail Medic” “Carlson Adventures “ “Hoot On The Trail” So glad I was able to attend this event and meet some other area hikers, I’m sure we will do it again !

Overnight backpacking trip to the Ponca Wilderness in Northwest Arkansas. Just another spectacular trip , then suddenly turned into a night of survival.

Indiana’s Cataract Falls is the largest by volume in Indiana.

Frequent, and easy to view, the White Dome Geyser can be seen approximately every 30 mins from the Firehole Lake Drive.

While visiting the Norris Geyser Basin in Yellowstone, we basically walked right up to what is currently the worlds largest geyser. We didn’t know what we were about to see. It started w a few small burst, followed by incredible force of water and steam. Truly awesome!!!

Backpacking the South Boundary Trail in Yellowstone National Park , came across this grizzly and her cubs. Once they ran off we though we were safe until we realized, our trail went right into the woods exactly where they ran in . We kept our eyes peeled for a while !!!

This Christmas Tree was only on our home from Thanksgiving till Newyears Day. We prepared the trunk when we bought it and watered the base every day. When the needles began to fall ..... we bagged it and carried it to the burn pile ............ ONE MATCH !!!!!
