Making 'Lilidog' my own...
In this video, I show how I have done some minor customisation to 'make-it-my-own' (as Dan@MiyoLinux would say!)
Thanks for the support. My last video for? Who knows?

"Lilidog" linux; 'Crunchbang' Reborn - YES!!!
have to say, this is probably one of the most usable openbox builds I have seen in a long time!
Not only is it so slick, robust, and almost infallible - it is based directly on 'Bookworm' so it couldn't be any other way, could it??
So we have a pairing of the best developed distribution at the peak of its being, with a slick window manager bustling along, and all put together by someone who is right up at the top of the table in the league table of developers!?
Get it NOW, at https://lilidog.org/ .
Best wishes to all and Be safe...

"EznixOS-12", a top Debian re-spin from a master developer...
'Eznix' is one of two solo developers whose output in my view exceeds that from larger multi-person teams, bar only one or two very esteemed distributions.
His direct support for anyone choosing to use his products - Archlinux ('EzarcherOS') or Debian ('EznixOS') - is difficult to match. Information is supplied integrated to the downloaded 'iso', and further online support is provided at SourceForge and OSDN, as well as his YouTube channel.
As his spins are largely 'vanilla' in make-up, but with additional tools he provides, the 'pukka' distributions he utilises themselves have very good support from source.
VERY well recommended, a must to try if you haven't already.
'Eznix' spins can be downloaded at https://sourceforge.net/projects/eznixos/ and https://osdn.net/projects/eznix-os/ .

"LXBox", an introduction to my latest project...
'LXBox' is a Devuan 'Ceres', pseudo-rolling release. It is intended to be a robust, concise daily-driver.
It will be my last project work for a while, as I am fairly (mentally) fatigued with the build process innuendo. As I spread my releases across more than one distribution (type!), they all need different circumstances and techniques to be invoked, being testing on the grey-matter retention occasionally!
Anyhow, I am pleased with the build overall of LXBox, and I will be using it myself and developing for future project input.
Feedback welcome, and appreciated. Thanks for the interest.
LXBox can be found at https://sourceforge.net/projects/lxbox/ .

"Debian-LXDE", bookworm to testing, a total success...
Well, in the end. Once I got rid of some raspberry-pi stuff?
Oh, and of course I meant that I thought the wallpaper was a 'Lubuntu' one!!

"Debian-LXDE" (Bookworm), a real corker...
In this video I look at the Debian 12 based LXDE release. Installed courtesy of the 'live' iso. No need to look for non-free firmware, as Debian have decided to incorporate in the standard builds going forward.
And a blether about all things Linux, wildlife, felling trees, and world affairs...
The question is, should I take this to 'testing' base-model?
Best wishes, and stay safe.

"NuTyX-LXDE", a swift review of this absolute top distro....
I have always been VERY pleased with NuTyX. This latest batch of releases is no different. I recommend this to anyone wishing to get the best out of their PC/laptop. Install is not difficult, but is different from the run-of-mill GUI-style installers that are awash these days.
Once installed, not many other distros can match its ease. Rolling and robust are two other traits.
Go and get one, and try 'live' if you haven't yet done so...
Best wishes, and be safe.

"ArktikOS-JWM-2023.06" and "OrcaOS-2023.06", new iso(s)....
A short and succint video announcing the new iso(s) with JWM window manager.
LXDM, and a common dark wallpaper across boot, plymouth, and LXDM
that blend with the running out-of-box desktop wallpaper are signatures; and this philosophy will be followed across all my 'ArktikOS' variants for the near future. The ArktikOS-JWM iso should be on site tomorrow morning UK time.
"ArktikOS-IceWM" will soon be available configured as such.
Oh, and for the live boot on the installable USB that is created, 'guest' will be automatically logged int the live running environment. This functionality will be included from now on.
Best wishes, and stay safe....
"ArktikOS-IceWM", a look at where this spin is heading, and an update on my projects status....
As well as a blather and general banter.
*Following on from the video, the upgrade of 'icewm' passed flawlessly....
Best wishes to all.
The new "ArcticOS-IceWM" iso, to be uploaded soon...
Still tweaking away, but a much better effort than that which is already on the project page. Once I sort a few 'niggles', I'll upload to the project page.
Best wishes, and stay safe...
"ArcticOS-E23" (Enlightenment) WM...
A short video to introduce the latest addition to the 'ArcticOS' family, plus an announcement for the future in relation to my (PCLOS-based) 'spins'.

"PCBang-2023", a tribute to "Pacbang-2016" (by Carl Duff)...
Unashamedly inspired and mimicking the archlinux based OS of 2016, which like Cruchbang for debian, set a standard for archlinux openbox wm spins which was never really equalled.
With patinece and guile, the 2016 64bit iso can be made to work, and can be brought up to date. I deid a series of videos on that subject in 2019, still available on my channel. The original Pacbang 'iso' can be downloaded from https://sourceforge.net/projects/architect-linux/files/pacbang/pacbang-2016.04-64bit.iso/download . There is a 2020 version that can be obtained at https://osdn.net/projects/pacbang-linux/storage/2020.02/pacbang-2020.02.21.iso .
The project page for my PCLinuxOS based spin is at https://sourceforge.net/projects/pcbang/ .
Best wishes to all, and be safe.

'OrcaOS-2023.05.2', a preview and brief description of the new iso...
My new PCLOS spin with a 'jwm' window manager is complete, and I will be uploading soon. I will create a 'post' to inform of the event.
*Please note:- the fixes at 4mins into the video will need to be edited manually into the startup of you .jwmrc file in the home folder to invoke the 'pulseaudio' and 'simple-notifier' as described for this iso release. I will fix for the next release cycle.
Best wishes, and BE SAFE....

"JokerOS", my 'PCLOS' respin.... #pclos #pclinuxos #englishbob #jimacklaw #plasma #kde
English Bob giving the promo to PCLinuxOS these days, and he has found the joys of the distro at last!
Just a short-ish video describing my PCLOS respin that has and still is available for download at SourceForge.
I don't agree with Steve's 'flatpak philosophy', but each to his own, as they say.
And I clarify the preferred and CLI method of software management in this unique distro, and briefly describe the manner to recreate your running system to 'iso' for re-distribution/re-install on other machines.
Best wishes, stay safe...

"Siduction"; the best KDE experience...?
A Debian-Sid (unstable) based distro producing a 'bleeding-edge' - and yet VERY stable - base for a daily-driver that most would be very happy with!
Being a (pseudo?) rolling-release, never has to be installed again, and the 'dev' team has incorporated a curated repository that seems not only to provide one or two unique applications, but also seems to keep what could become out-of-control very much 'under-control'.
Well recommended by myself. This has not provided a single glimmer or glitch in about two months of use!
Best wishes to all, and BE SAFE...

"Oh sweet Cinnamon", a final look at the March project iso[s]...

Be safe everyone...
**STOP PRESS. YT have reviewed my appeal and rejected it. So the video will NOT be re-instated. The video was apparently making YT a less safe place!!!! So, as of NOW, I wont be producing content anymore. A shame perhaps. But I wouldnt want to risk snowflakes melting, would I?
For the moment, I'll leave the content. while I ponder the way ahead...
Thanks to all my subscribers and people I regard as friends over the years. Quite a ride, and the bumps have became too large...

"MyVoidLinux"; the abridged announcement video, re-done!
'YT' informed me they had removed my (previous) video for a 'misinformation' issue? I'm not sure what that was , but it was apparently a comment (that I don't recall making?) relating to the 2020 US election.
Anyway, I have reviewed the video, and 'cut' it at 1hr 30mins or so. It does end abruptly, with no farewells or goodbyes. I couldn't find any controversial issues discussed by myself regardless BTW! Perhaps something to do with the string of comments below the video??
Perhaps someone blagged on me that they were unhappy? No idea.
If I disappear from YT, you heard it first here!!!
Probably more important, is that new 'musl' iso are being uploaded as I type, and will continue as and when time allows...

"MyVoidLinux"; new 'iso' files for March 2023....
In this video, I take a look at the content of my March 2023 uploads. I discuss the significant difference[s] I have embodied (not all by my design!) in this particular 'run' of builds.
I carry out an example build within 'Virtualbox' using the "voidlinux" installer, and confirm the 'root/sudo' functionality.
A little longer than I normally would like to publish, and if you feel you can do away with my earnest attempts to albeit fail installing 'Discover' at the very end, you can probably 'skip' the last ten minutes or so!!!
"MyVoidLinux" can be found at, https://sourceforge.net/projects/myvoidlinux/ .
Thanks for the interest, and be safe....

"Voidlinux"; the best KDE experience...?
Here is a look at the build that can be obtained from my, 'MyVoidLinux' on Sourceforge. Although (I believe?) KDE has never been formally released by the Void developers themselves, the iso used to install this has been created using the same scripts that are used to build those 'pukka' builds released by Void team themselves.
So a quick look around the project, and I do include all the means to do the all the iso[s] as part of the project too.
Plus, a 'bedtime-wildcat-tale' that was really excellent to see in the flesh, sorry no photos or videos were able to be conjured I'm afraid!!!
Best wishes and be safe...
