This wolf hybrid (Raven) passed away in November of 2015 (after this video was published). For two decades, no less than 20 different dogs were adopted to my home of two acres from "kill" shelters. But having this journey for 12 years with Raven is one that shaped my life and one that I will never forget. They teach you to live in the moment and to be honest about your current mental state. Although I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, there is a reason why the Native Americans saw them as great teachers.

Tango is a 6 month old Siamese, or snowshoe, or something. He really likes to talk. :) The other Siamese is Aki, his brother, and the big, orange, friendly cat is my big girl Snickers. Edit: oh don't worry guys, that's a faded henna design I got at a festival! kittens can scratch when they play but not like that 😂

I love it when my siamese cat talks a lot. Sounds like he's calling my name Omar, "Ow'waa." He's talks constantly and seeks affection 100% of the time ... that's typical siamese behavior.

Finnegan Bear, our seven-week-old cub, is the youngest of the 26 bears currently in residence at Appalachian Bear Rescue. He’s residing in The Cub Nursery until he’s strong enough, old enough and big enough to return to the wild where he belongs. Baby bears are born with blue eyes that turn brown as they get older. While Finnegan's “baby-blues” are taking in the world, it's his nose that provides him with the most detailed information. To him, scent is a continuous data stream and he has a big head to house the large, curious brain that processes it. Cubs have stronger front legs than rear legs, so Finnegan is still wobbly, though his coordination is improving rapidly. The curators are bottle-feeding Finnegan until he’s able to lap formula on his own. He hasn’t sprouted teeth yet, so for now he’s a genuine “gummy bear”. In the warmth and quiet of The Cub Nursery, he’s getting bigger, stronger and more alert every day. Thank you for helping him get his second chance.

This mama bear and her cubs are playing in our yard on the trampoline and in the treehouse. They are wild bears, but seem to think our yard is their playground!

Watch out for James' "hilarious" otter jokes. Apologies about the shoddy camera work - my video camera won't allow me to zoom in and out and the stabilization is useless.
