All puppies are born with the ability to adapt to their environment. The exact moment of the beginning of the adolescent stage depends particularly on the size or breed of each dog. Small size dogs usually enter adolescence around 6 and 8 months, large dogs between 9 and 12, and in terms of giant sizes this can happen between 12 and 18 months. At this stage, the puppies develop their character and it is here where the insecurities and fears are accentuated. It is super important that at this stage we always educate our Super Puppy with positive reinforcement techniques since scolding or punishments could make things worse. Dogs are unique, just like us, and the beginning of the different stages of life will vary from organism to organism. Dogs age at different speeds and large dogs generally take longer to mature than small dogs. But, no matter how long they do it, they all go through the same stages of life: energetic puppy, unpredictable teenager, mature adult, and calm senior.
