They were down 1.4% from August and 23.8% down from Sept 2021. That includes single family homes, townhomes l, condos and co-ops. They say this is an “adjustment” due to continued interest rate hikes from the Federal Reserve. According to Freddie Mac the average for the most popular 30-year fixed rate mortgage today is 6.94% which is the highest in 20 years.

Another legal victory for the federal student loan forgiveness program. A federal judge in Missouri threw out the case challenging the program from 6 GOP-led states. Judge said they lacked standing. So now what?

The Consumer Spending report for Sept 2022 was released today. It found overall consumer prices increased 6.2% in Sept 2022 from Sept 2021. Thats a near 40 year high. But despite those increases, consumer spending did not decrease. It actually INCREASED 0.6%. It also increased by 0.6% in August. It decreased 0.2% in July.
