The Dead Sea Captain - Caroline.
The Dead Sea Captain was a transient troubadour who traversed for 9 years, singing sad songs in the streets and subways and searching for a place to lay his hat.
This song is about a girl who was not called Caroling, but was a big part of the Captains life.
Lyrics.
Caroline, Caroline. Tell me what's on your mind. Sorry eyes under starry skies Wanna sleep the whole day through Satisfied just passing time I guess we already knew I'd pull apart, away from you Split like the river in two And whispers of sorrow That blow through your ears Carrying all of tomorrows fears Caroline just take your time Soon you'll reach the shore Caroline don't look behind Tomorrow's a long way to walk With whispers of sorrow That blow through your ears Carrying all of tomorrows fears My heart is like an old broken drum Always missing the beat Slowed down heavy and hard Can barely stay on my feet Head low keep hanging on To all the things I can't keep Wind blows and I'm letting go Just like the last autumn leaf Caroline, Caroline. Not a thing I would change Can't do it over again So goodbye my sweet Caroline Goodbye my sweet....
