Another tool in the arsenal with this AWESOME wooden tryplane!

Just a brief overview of the process of tuning up a refurbished plane. I flatten the sole with sandpaper and sharpen the blade on a diamond stone. I use permanent marker to see my progress on flattening the sole by seeing how evenly removed my marks are. I generally use 100 grit sandpaper to start then move up to 120. When sharpening and honing my edges, I like using Windex!

A brief short of gluing a fit for a half lap and mortise & tenon joint for a farmhouse bench. The half laps form the X's for the leg trestles and the apron is joined to the mortises in the X's via the tenoned ends.
