After my topping lift snapped last summer, this was a big project I had to start thinking about. It's not an easy task to add a new line through a mast and installing new running rigging was one of the best ways to prevent this from happening again. It took some trial, error, and a few hiccups along the way. But overall, I am so happy with how this installation went and the quality of the new rigging I chose! I am finally headed BACK!! My friend from high school joins me on our sail from Fort Lauderdale to Nassau. If you have spent time near southeast Florida, you know about the intense Northerlies that come through during the winter months. You have also heard that you don't want to be in the Gulf Stream during them; the Gulf Stream flows south to north, which, in presence of a northerly wind, results in nasty sea conditions. This was definitely a risky sail and I got to put myself and the boat to the test. This part of my sail was a bit intense and kept me on my toes! Solo-sailing is never easy, and as the weather deteriorates, it becomes a bit tougher.
