Jebcg Render | Practice 02 Learning Blender in 30 Days
Learning Blender 3D in 30 days was a challenging but rewarding experience for me. As someone who has been working in 3ds Max since 2000, I had to start from scratch with Blender and familiarize myself with its unique interface and features.
To make the most of my time, I decided to create one small project each day and tackle as many of the basic steps in the 3D pipeline as possible. I began by working through Blender Guru's Donut tutorial, which provided a solid foundation in the basics of modeling, shading, and lighting. From there, I moved on to more advanced topics such as sculpting, texturing, rigging, and animation.
Throughout the process, I made sure to use the Cycles render engine on all of my projects. This allowed me to experiment with different lighting and material setups and see how they affected the final renders. By the end of the 30 days, I was able to create a complete animated character that was able to interact with objects in a scene.
Overall, the experience of learning Blender in 30 days was very rewarding. It was challenging at times, but the sense of accomplishment that came with completing each project was well worth it. I plan to continue using Blender as my main 3D application going forward, and I am excited to see what I will be able to create with it.

This is an animation i did during the lockdown just for fun, I literally took out all of my abandoned toys from the hard drive to made them do something. (Some are 10 or 20 years old)
This is a combination of all my influences in a single video. Check it out if you enjoy Animation Openings.

Jebcg Render | Practice 01
Here are a few quick random shots I do for quick practice every now and then.
I´m always trying to practice new things like: materials, light setups, render settings, optimization, procedural methods, post production techniques, color grading, etc...
The best way to improve is just doing very diverse things.
I have more, so i will keep posting the ones that turn out nice.

Here is a small video showing some behind the scenes stuff on the Gecko animation.
I also added a project on Behance that features better quality photos than the compressed video.
Watch it here:

I hope it makes clear how simple and straight forward the process was. Mostly all done with 3ds Max 2016 built in tools almost out of the box. Until now the new 2016 release works as expected.
Thanks for supporting this small test project so much and all the great comments. If there are any more questions I will gladly answer them on the comments.

Jebcg Animation | Gecko
I had some free time one weekend to do some testing and started this lizard in mudbox. I poly edited the lizard mudbox base mesh to give it better face detail for animation. I started testing 3ds max 2016 to seek bugs or errors, so far it works as expected and the animation playback is really improved.
Used C.A.T. rig, Mental Ray IBL for lighting, SSS Skin+ from Master Zap for skin. I rendered Beauty Pass and Z depth only, i wanted to keep is quick and simple.
Post work and coloring in After Effects.
