Photography On A Summer's Day
Whilst still on lockdown in Wales during the coronavirus pandemic we are allowed out for excercise for longer periods of time.
On this occasion i planned on returning up the hills but as the weather was far too hot for that, i decided to follow paths i have not ventured on so far and see if i could find compositions.

Quarry Photography in Storm Ellen
Had a One2One workshop in the Dinorwig Quarry, a very windy day because of Storm Ellen but the elements were great for landscape photography with great contrast of a moody scene with great ray of lights punching through the landscape.

In Search For A Good Photo Opportunity
In this episode i am looking for a composition by using google maps to search for a location to shoot an old iron age hillfort.
Dinas Dinorwig hillfort sits on one of the summits of a long ridge running NE-SW. On the NW the ground falls away steeply to a small tributary of the River Seiont and on the SE the ground falls away less steeply to the marshy valley in which the River Cegin rises.
The monument comprises the remains of a hillfort, which probably dates to the Iron Age period (c. 800 BC - AD 74, the Roman conquest of Wales). Hillforts are usually located on hilltops and surrounded by a single or multiple earthworks of massive proportions. Hillforts must have formed symbols of power within the landscape, while their function may have had as much to do with ostentation and display as defence. Dinas Dinorwig hillfort is located on one summit of a ridge.

Google Maps To Find A Location Near Me (2020)
The weather over the last two months has been terrible so i find a couple of hours gap with no rain. By using google maps i find a lone tree on a back road that might have some potential for a good composition. I then head out and take a look...

A New Location To Be Discovered...LLyn Crafnant
Llyn Crafnant is a lake that lies in a valley in Wales where the northern edge of the Gwydir Forest meets the lower slopes of the Carneddau mountains and, more specifically, the ridge of Cefn Cyfarwydd. The head of the valley offers a profile of crags which are silhouetted at sunset.

A Church Can Make For A Good image (2020)
St Baglan's Church, Llanfaglan, is a redundant church in the parish of Llanfaglan, Gwynedd, Wales. It is designated by Cadw as a Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Friends of Friendless Churches. It stands in an isolated position in a field some 150 metres from a minor road.
The church interior is evocative of 18th century social life in the mixture of modest open back seating and the grander box pews for the wealthier villagers, including one from Ynys Môn (Anglesey), who as you will see often added their own date and signature.
